October Energies - Relationships Deep Dive

Welcome to the month of October, with its intense energies of relationship deep dives, emotional healing, and the scope for active transformation. We begin the month with the Sun and Mercury in Libra, Venus in Virgo, and Mars in Scorpio. This brings a sense of balance, clear communication, and the desire for justice. The focus is on relationships, inner purity, passion and devotion. We have an ongoing Kite formation with the Sun opposite Neptune linking to Uranus and Pluto, urging us to face fantasy and illusion, and create a clear channel to spirit.

 

6 October: Mercury enters Scorpio

The planet of mind dives into the deep emotional waters of Scorpio, illuminating patterns, karmic loops, lower emotional energies and past trauma. You can become the detective, psychologist and healer, as the mental energy functions as a depth probe.

 

The Aries full moon highlights the axis of Aries – Libra, war and peace, self and other, directed will and mediation. A square to Jupiter will bring out big emotions. This could be a dramatic time, with the importance of inner reflection on the harvest of the year, how you balance your needs with those of others, and cleaning the slate to begin afresh.

 

7 October: Mercury square Pluto

The Mercury Pluto square will bring out bugbears and mental blocks, subconscious issues, and communications at cross-purposes with each other.

 

13 October: Venus enters Libra – activating the Kite formation with the Sun opposite Neptune, and the minor triangle with Neptune, Uranus and Pluto.

The Goddess of Love enters the sign of relationship, balance and harmony. At home in her own sign, Venus is romantic and diplomatic, delighting in witty conversation and the arts. Watch out for illusions in love, and things being not what they seem.

 

13 October: Pluto moves Direct

The planet of power, deep transformation and rebirth moves direct, ending a stint of inner shadow work which began in early May. You can take you power and move forwards again – owning your responsibilities and not playing the victim to anyone.

 

19 October: Venus at the Root Chakra Gate: Moon Venus conjunction activating the Kite formation with the Sun, Neptune, Uranus and Pluto. A cosmic opportunity to release blocks from the Root Chakra – issues relating to survival, security, confidence, and safety as Inanna removes her Royal Robe.

 

19 October: Mercury Mars conjunction in Scorpio

The active, masculine energy combines with the mental energy of thoughts and communication, in Scorpio, fixed water. Take care to speak consciously, as words can have extra power at this time. Communications have an active, powerful, piercing quality which can empower, without anger or malice.

 

21 October: New Moon in Libra – in T-square to Jupiter and Pluto

The new moon in Libra brings new beginnings for relationships, a newfound sense of balance and harmony, and a renewed quest for justice and peace. Aspects to Jupiter and Pluto means that events may try to rock the boat, and destabilise fragile new beginnings.

 

22 October: Neptune retrograde re-enters Pisces

Mighty planet Neptune retrogrades back into Pisces, bringing a soul test of all you have learned from this transit of the past 14 years. Neptune – Poseidon the ruler of Pisces brought gifts and lessons in compassion, humility, healing, forgiveness, and most of all connecting to spiritual guidance. The shadow side of this is the hangover from the Age of Pisces – guru worship, outsourcing your guidance, glamour, false gods, victimhood, martyrdom, seduction, addictions and illusions. We are being asked to check ourselves, and how far we have come.

 

23 October: Sun enters Scorpio

The Sun enters Scorpio, fixed water, and the veils begin to thin. Emotional undercurrents are more detectable, ancestor spirits draw near, and the light shines into the shadows bringing the potential for soul transformation and divine alchemy.

 

23 October: Grand Trine in Water – active until the end of October

This potent Grand Trine consists of Jupiter in Cancer, Moon Mars Mercury in Scorpio, and Saturn Neptune in Pisces. A lot of deep emotions are flowing, and passions may run high. This brings a window of time where feelings may be acknowledged, accepted and released, as there is a positive flow.

 

29 October: Mercury enters Sagittarius

The planet of mind enters the sign of mutable fire, and thoughts become philosophical, deep, high and mystical. Communications are wide ranging and educational, with a focus on the big picture. Sagittarius is the wisdom teacher and also the clown, so prepare for some directness and humour to lighten the mood.


31 October: Halloween /Samhain

This is of course Halloween /Samhain, although true Samhain is on the new moon in Scorpio on 20 November

 

October is a month of deep transformation, relationship healing, emotional and spiritual alchemy. The balance of masculine and feminine, communication between men and women, love, sex and relationships of all kinds are themes that will be prominent.
