New Moon in Libra – Balance & Harmony

The New Moon in Libra marks a new lunar cycle, a release of the old, and a fresh beginning in the sign of Libra, the peacemaker. In the sign of relationships, there is the sincere desire to find a new balance, and a new level of understanding and diplomacy in existing relationships. Peace, meditation, resolution and balance are keywords here.

The aspects surrounding the new moon are highly charged, and they indicate that you will need to dig deep in order to access this newfound state of balance and harmony.

The scales of Libra represent peace and justice – and, as they say, there is no peace without justice and no justice without peace. Balance is found through mediation and clear communication. Justice is found through fairness, transparency and righteousness. There can be no greed or self-interest at play, simply equality for all concerned.

The new moon is square to Pluto and Jupiter, which are moving into opposition with each other. This is about power dynamics, power plays, determination to succeed, and strength of will leading to victory and success. With the new moon squaring these planets, you are being asked to dig deep into the strength of your soul, have the courage to be emotionally authentic, and allow life to go with the flow a little while holding your line. The aspect to Pluto means that you must be fully conscious of your shadow so that it doesn’t control you.

The new moon is making a pair of quincunxes to Uranus, Neptune and Saturn. These are underlying “fated” influences: Karmic obstructions need to be cleared, and doubts and fears released. Do not focus on the problem, focus on the new state of being you wish to bring in. There is a wildcard energy at play, like a quantum experiment. Are things the way you expect to find them, or not? Could the outcome be this, or that? There is a moving trickster energy here that needs to be embraced and accepted with a touch of cosmic humour.

There is a powerful grand water trine in the sky, which is touching the new moon, bringing a strong emotional influence to the day. Mercury is exactly conjunct Mars in Scorpio generating potent communications, feeding into Jupiter in Cancer, expanding the emotional energy behind the words. These are connecting to Saturn in Pisces, bringing the opportunity to flow through previous obstacles. If the emotional energy behind words is unconscious, hurt can be caused, and things will go around in circles. The key here is to find acceptance and take responsibility; take a risk by being emotionally vulnerable and authentic; bring softness and fluidity to harsh situations; and watch magic happen.

This new moon is calling us to make a new start in relationships of all kinds, especially relationships between men and women. There is a massive new trend of being completely inauthentic; pretending not to care, going ghost or no contact, saying what you don’t mean and not meaning what you say. This is especially true of Gen Z and Millennials. People try so hard not to care, to cancel, to mask their true feelings and leave a trail of disposable situationships in their wake. This signals a complete breakdown in communication between the sexes, and destroys authentic relating. This is a tragedy.

Many are consumed with playing guessing games and trying to find the right strategy – to play it cool, go no contact, and suffer in silence because they are so afraid of revealing their heart. This new moon is calling us to take a risk and be authentic. What happens when you speak your truth, calmly and with love? You might be surprised to find that it unlocks barriers that have previously blocked you. You give others permission to do the same. Speaking from the heart is liberating. Even if you don’t get the results you thought you wanted, you will realise it is not actually about results and goals. It is about freeing your heart, not trying to censor yourself, just being your authentic self as you flow through life, finding others with the courage to do the same.
