New Moon in Pisces - Spring Equinox - The Power of Integration

The New Moon at 28* Pisces comes one day before the Spring Equinox on 20th March. This is a time of heightened endings and beginnings. This new moon brings an energetic reset at the very end of Pisces season, and the chance to be present and still with whatever has been coming up for you.

The Pisces new moon brings the focus onto compassion, healing, oneness, creativity and grace. It is an emotional “stop point” and an opportunity to begin again, mentally clear and refreshed.

The major aspect to the new moon is a sextile to Uranus, which brings opportunities for transformation and change. In your personal life, you may see the possibility of doing things in a new way, with different results. You may experience new insights and revelations, as your consciousness goes through a shift. This aspect is a positive opportunity to begin again.

The new moon in late Pisces is conjunct Saturn and Neptune in early Aries, and so magnifies the qualities of this conjunction. Saturn and Neptune bring mixed results, from breaking down walls, to blocking the flow, as we are seeing in the Strait of Hormuz. On a mundane level, these planets can bring about blockages, restrictions, dissolution and loss. Saturn takes no prisoners, and if you do not wish to experience losses,  you need to get absolutely clear on the structures of your life, and make sure your karmic scales are balanced.

There is an imperative to operate from your soul guidance, especially as we also have the North Node conjunct Mercury Retrograde and Mars in Pisces. This is a time of reflection, introspection, and reviewing the past. What choices have led you here? Once you see the patterns, you can release the emotions and experience deep cleansing and renewal.

On this new moon, ritual bathing or sacred water ceremonies are beneficial, to connect with the purifying power of water, to cleanse and renew. Essential oils such as clary sage, ylang ylang, frankincense, lavender and grapefruit can be mixed with olive oil and added to a seasalt bath to purify your energy field.

Jupiter is stationary at 15* Cancer, conjunct fixed star Canopus, the Ship of the Desert. This fortunate star rules journeys and adventures, with the power to change evil to good. Jupiter here magnifies these qualities, relating to the righteous and noble soul quest. A square to Venus can bring out undesirable personality traits such as vanity, pride, and excess; so people will be more prone to acting from their lower emotions, when lacking in awareness.

On 20 March we have the exact Equinox at 14.46 GMT - the Spring Equinox in the Northern Hemisphere, and the Autumn Equinox in the Southern Hemisphere. The Sun enters Aries, the first sign of the zodiac, and the day and night are equal in length. This is a time of balance, within and without, and in the Northern Hemisphere we welcome the growing light, and the power of Light to overcome the darkness.

The equinox window is around 48 hours - 24 hours either side of the exact equinox. During this time, the earth’s magnetic field is lowered, and meditation is clearer and more powerful. It is beneficial to focus on internal balance, balancing your mind and emotions, and balancing your health, maybe doing a cleanse, having a checkup, or implementing a new regime.

At this midpoint between the Winter Solstice and the Summer Solstice, take a look at what you are growing in your life. As Spring emerges, it is time to weed the garden, clear away old dead leaves, and nurture the tender young shoots you wish to grow. New life needs space, a clean slate, and the right conditions to flourish. On the Pisces new moon, take this opportunity to wash away old emotions and thought patterns, and gift yourself with a new start.

The chart of the Equinox has Leo rising, ruled by the Sun at 0* Aries, the degree of absolute power ruling the sign of Sovereignty. Taurus is on the midheaven, bringing strength, stability and fixity, ruled by Venus in Aries the Warrior Queen. We enter the arena of fire in the Year of the Fire Horse. It is up to each of us to demonstrate the meaning of Sovereignty - and live according to this. It has nothing to do with nationalism. Sovereign means, Soul Reign. Your Soul reigns supreme.

On the Equinox we have six planets in Aries: the Sun joins Neptune, Saturn, Venus, Moon and Chiron in the sign of cardinal fire. This brings a massive burst of ignition to power forwards on your path. Aries is the firestarter, the trailblazer, and the pioneer. The Sun joins Neptune at the beginning of a 165 cycle, as new dreams and visions are seeded.

However, all these planets are ruled by Mars in Neptune-ruled Pisces, which is not the best sign for Mars, as it can tend to be vague and directionless, or easily led by gurus. Mars and Neptune correspond to the sixth ray of idealism.

We are leaving the Age of Pisces and becoming self-determined and community driven in the Age of Aquarius. We carry forward the essence of Pisces, which is the knowledge of Oneness, and the ability to surrender to life, while swimming upwards towards greater clarity and the highest light of the soul’s guidance.

To make the most of the energies, we need to be absolutely whole and integrated, shadow and light, body and soul; with real life knowledge and wisdom fused with soul wisdom. To live only from the lower self spells doom. To blindly walk into an AI world, surrendering reason and intuition, spells doom. To spiritually bypass and live disconnected from the world is also completely unviable.

It is time to live as whole beings, and surprise ourselves with what truly integrated power can generate.
