Full Moon in Sagittarius – Be a Light unto Yourself

The Full Moon in Sagittarius illuminates the essence of wisdom. There has been an abundance of Gemini energy recently, bringing many circulating ideas, movement and communications; and now the Sun opposes the Moon in the sign of the sage. It is time to see the big picture, step back and recognise the whole that is more than the sum of its parts. Everything you have been learning and sharing about can find its deeper truth now.

 

Jupiter has just entered Cancer, and is in a wide conjunction with the Sun. The ruler of Sagittarius brings a big, full energy to this moon. Sagittarius is mutable spiralling fire and expansion, the broadening of the mind as it seeks to learn, teach and know. We have its ruler in Cancer, the sign of big feelings, swelling emotions and watery cycles. There is a fire and water quality to this lunation, which brings passion and emotion; sensitivity and heightened perceptions; and deep instinctual movement and change.

 

The predominant element in the full moon chart is fire, which brings action, enthusiasm, life-force and initiation. Prepare to be swept away by new illuminated knowledge and cycles of release that cleanse your body and energy field for the new.

 

The main aspect to the moon is a trine to Mars in Leo, bringing more active fiery energy and impetus for change. The Moon and Mars are in a grand trine with Chiron in Aries, which brings piercing insights for your personal healing, and the ability to go with them and create significant shifts in your life.

 

Mars is moving into an exact square with Uranus, bringing sudden dramatic changes for the purpose of awakening. These can seem destabilising, because Uranus is in an earth sign and for change to happen, sometimes the very foundations of your life need to be shaken up.

 

So this full moon is powerful, dynamic, and full of seismic shifts. There is much solar light and new codes coming through, time shifts and openings where you can step into a whole new way of being. You just have to decide to do it, and be the truth of your soul.

 

This is an important esoteric festival, where the Sun in Gemini opposes the Moon. In esoteric astrology, the twins of Gemini represent the soul and the personality, and how they are yoked together. The integrated personality being the physical, astral and mental bodies combined. The focus is on the soul burning brighter, bringing through the light of Love and Wisdom. This is distributed through the sign of Gemini, which seeks to circulate and communicate the inner knowledge.

 

The axis of Gemini and Sagittarius is about learning and knowing, teaching and growing, expanding, channelling and communicating the love, wisdom and faith within. You may feel called to expand your world, seek new horizons, and find radical ways to express your soul force and share your sacred gifts. The arrow of truth and the seed of knowledge are very accessible at this time.

 

Wisdom and truth are powerful ways to heal your emotions, as the light of mind illuminates the nature of your attachments. Buddha said, be a lamp unto yourself. You have no need of anyone but yourself.
